Warmer weer

Thought I’d cook something different tonight. I never made pasta sauce with salmon before.
We saw helaasheid yesterday in studio skoop. It was bit of a hassle to find a parking at that hour but we managed to squeeze into a gap within walking distance. S was sitting on my left side and at the same time he managed to flash on the silver screen for a second or two. Someone or something smelled like cat pee in the cinema but i soon got used to it and didn’t smell anything anymore. With all the hype around the film since it’s release and even before there was no way it could possibly match with my expectations. So so.
After the movie we had perfect wok in de orchidee. I chose indian sauce.
The bell for playmobil school arrived this morning. My disrespect towards the Post of Belgium remains unchanged. We were about to leave to work when S heard a car. Sometime later at the gate he found a small package on top of the mailbox. It rains often in this country and all kinds of people live here. We already lost one package about a week and half ago – probably happened the same way but someone else got there first.
My library books are extremely late again.
My last twitter was 100 days ago.
My arm is still not ok.

Today i was planning to remove every piece of seasonal decoration and dye my hair fresh copper again. Instead i started with backing up & updating my wordpress and for the rest of the day i’ve been helping S with wordpress and a new site for DvhS. We had quick and late lunch from the leftovers of yesterday’s spinach lasagne..
Oh, and after breakfast i played Róisín Murhpy‘s new song from the internet (momma’s place) and S immediately linked it to ’80s, Farley Jackmaster Funk and Roadblock by S+A+W. His brain makes fast connections when it comes to music.
Earlier this week we met in De Wan after work and some guy there wanted to hear Rod Piazza (and the mighty flyers) so the cafébaas looked it up for him. Makes your feet move to the beat! ;)
Everyday will be like a holiday

Today we heard Kobe crow for the first time. What a fine sound it was! :)
Tomorrow D&F and the Seatsniffers – and they’ll stay overnight.

Our new doorbell hanging at the gate. It took a while for S to drill a hole in the old cement gatepost so that he could attach the pole where the bell hangs. When the bell was finally hanging and he tested it few times one small dragon head fell off. It was so badly oxidized. Anyway, the bell works fine without the missing part and we can hear it perfectly indoors as well.
Quiconque me touche entendra ma voix.
Today we’re planning to take a trip on the river. I hope they still got free canoes for this afternoon as we didn’t reserve any yet. The weather is fine, sunny but not burning hot. Later on we’ll have a barbeque in the garden.
Oh, i wish we were on holiday already! Still one week to go..
Last night i programmed Tacones Lejanos in eyetv. For once my laptop didn’t snap unexpectedly and it got fully recorded.
Wonderful surprise!

S came back from the sea and got a very nice surprise with him. Two sunloungers! They’re just plain common iron tube + thin mattress and yet perfect. What a new sensation to lay comfortably outside reading or with your laptop, head in the shadow and legs in the sunshine. Warm summer breeze and a refreshing drink on your side..
Eventually we want to buy the nice wooden things – the same as in aqua-azul – but they’re so hard to find. It should have a flexible wooden construction, sort of rope bridge, that follows the curves of your back.
Violets are growing on the grass.
Kobe de Haan
July 21st, 2009

Three days ago we drove to south of gent and bought this charming young brahma rooster for five euros. Then we isolated a triangle area where he can grow up. The first night he slept on the rooftop, in the rain. Daytime he walks up and down next to the fence trying to find a way to get to his chicks. But they are too big for him to handle. Poor Kobe! Hope he don’t get any trauma from this separation at early age.
Today’s not like yesterday..
June 14th, 2009

We’re expecting visitors and the rain is pouring down like it will never stop.
Spock was ill yesterday so we took him to the vet. He got two prikjes and a bottle of “tasty oil” which he detests because the smell of it is associated with the veterinary clinic. He’s feeling better already.
I baked two cakes which turned out three because there was too much batter for the bottom of the apple curd tart. A tick had found its way under my bra on the left side. I was just about to have a look in the oven when sticked its head in my skin. I twisted the beast out immediately and crushed it dead.
Blanche is still brooding. She’s sitting in the way for the other chicks to lay eggs so we get less. Only two yesterday.

The last thing i did yesterday before shutting down and going to sleep was downloading Asha Puthli‘s LP from the iTunes. Until then i’d never heard but one track from her – the amazing jj cale cover right down here which appears also on the compilation diggin deeper vol. 1 – - the roots of acid jazz. Listened to her this evening with Gk. We dumped the grand finale of eurosongcontest because it was soooo boring. But Gk wanted to see Finland so i let her watch it on my macbook and then put her to bed.
Since we have so many fresh eggs i baked a cake today. We had strawberries with ice cream with it. How delicious..
