Today, between showers from the sky, we managed to wash the blue kangoo. It was filthy inside and dirty outside, now it’s still a bit dirty inside but clean outside. We need to buy new floor rugs. Should have left the old ones in the container park yesterday already.

Kids were just playing like trampoline upstairs where there’s no trampoline. S raised his voice and it’s calm.

Miri is learning to be inside again. When my mother and brother were visiting us she only came indoors in the nights, until morning. Spock needs a sleeping basket; he claimed Gk’s car seat (with a cushion on it) immediately when it was brought inside during the car wash.

Spinazielasagne in Spinnenkop. We got ananas in groentenpakket. Ook chinese kool, groene selderij, verse erwten en veel wortelen. S is watching the Muppets. (His back is getting worse – with pain.) I should pack for Paris tomorrow maar ik heb geen gusting. It’s so warm. Had some vlierbloesemsap (made by our neighbour Evi) to boost up my blood sugar. Now Kermit sings “it’s not easy being green”.

Upgrading to Ella was easy as click & go. Backup your stuff, deactivate plugins, upload files and  re-activate plugins. Voilà! Installing Drupal 5 was just the same -  create yr db, upload files and fill in db/user  info. Ça y est!

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have the same smoothness irl?

Inspired by today’s de morgen i’m writing few lines. On page 16:ego there’s a line that says tuesday is de beste dag om te bloggen. Based on RSS activity.

Lately i walk a lot. Lately = since i lost my bike key (which could be somewhere in the house but i don’t know where to look for it). I don’t mind walking. Everything is in walking distance – even the station. Yesterday evening i walked to Zuid and back across the park and spinning space (Sint-Pietersplein). But tomorrow it will start to rain again and it will surely put this matter in another perspective. Then again; trams exist.

I’ve succesfully embedded gallery2 into drupal. I had an issue of memory_limit still giving error in gallery module although the value was updated in php.ini and server restarted. Gelukkig heeft Combell een prima customer service. They found out where i had over-ruled this setting and set it straight for me. I never thought of checking drupal’s site settings although i did check all htaccess files.

For two weeks ahead i’m having to inhale two shots of powder every morning and every evening. The tool is click and play and called Pulmicort Turbuhaler.

Päädyin lueskelemaan vanhoja, niitä ensimmäisiä nettipäiväkirjamerkintöjäni kuuden vuoden takaa. Huvittavia paikoitellen. Silloin minulla ei ollut tietokonetta eikä digikameraa (no, annukalla oli koulusta kerran digikamera lainassa.. kameraan syötettiin disketti!, jolle kuvat tallentuivat) ja olin juuri aloittanut opettelemaan html:n ja kuvankäsittelyn alkeita. Toukokuun 17. päivä vuonna kaksituhatta postasin ensimmäisen kerran valokuvan:

“kokeilin äsken 20/20 -kuvaeditoria, aivan paska jos vertaa photoshop 5.5:n! croppasin kuitenkin omakuvani kuvasta, jossa olen titan kanssa ruokahuoneessa. liitän sen tähän jos se vain näkyy.”

Näkyihän se. Viikon kuluttua meni jo heikommin: “Näyttää siltä ettei mikään suju. En saanut edes sivuja toimimaan, kun sijoittelin tiedostoja eri kansioihin.” Mulla on edelleen kansiot sekaisin.. kestää vielä hetken aikaa ennen kuin pystyn palauttamaan vanhoja “blogeja” nettiin.

We had a conversation about being assertive just a while ago (actually some hours ago, on Saturday evening; it’s past midnight already..) It was about the thin line between being assertive or being just arrogant – or even aggressive. I couldn’t immediately translate assertive in Finnish and had to check the word in my (old) dictionary. It gave two translations – “vakuuttava” and “ehdoton” – but i was not fully convinced by these words. With google i found a better translation in the internet: jämäkkä! Although i remeber i have been described by this word few times i don’t think i’m always assertive enough (when i should) and therefore improving my assertiveness doesn’t sound like a bad idea. S agreed with this on his part. Being assertive is good [for you] if you do it respectfully.

We started the Saturday together with Non Plus Ultra bubbles in The Bed. It was sunny and almost noon then. When we got up we saw our neighbour Helen harvesting grapes from the wine on their wall. The bike-dude was helping her; Evi and Patrick keeping company – of course – on this street you don’t have to be alone.. S took his cam en ging naar buiten om een paar foto’s van deze gelegenheid te nemen. Saimme kaikki maistaa tämän kesän edellisestä sadosta tehtyä kermaisen purppuraista makeaa mehua.

Tonight i’ll take part in a work-related social event, namely an informal dinner in a place that has no soul in Brussel. It will be the first time since the company kick-off that i’m going out with my colleagues. This time it’s just our team in EICTSD. My last train home is going to leave at 23:04 but i’ll try to leave earlier. Sleep is important.
