Not having to exit Gent on a regular weekday feels So Good. These japanese sweets feel like dry, organic jelly when touched. Mild taste but the texture added more to the flavor. Quite unordinary if compared to local candy. I wonder if they import these here..

It had snowed most of the night and i decided not to take the bike. Because of that it took me one hour to get there. Tram had to be replaced with a bus and i jumped in the right one with wrong destination first. Noticed almost immediately that we were heading for the opposite direction; the driver let me out and i crossed the street to catch my way.

Cats are starting to enjoy being outside. Miri stayed in the backyards for five hours today. She came in just when we were about to go upstairs and leave the door open. So we didn’t have to let the cold in.

S got the sound of red radio back & it’s much better than before but then it slipped away while we were eating whatever we had for dinner. Reason yet unknown.. more handy-man’s work required. [edit: the sound is back again]

In between, we got two new kittieS for Gk’s birthday. The below picture is a week ago when they were just brought in their new home.

Our weekly bio supplement contained two delicious nashis. Both eaten by me (with pleasure) so there’s nothing left to take a picture anymore. But happily we have the internet. If we had a garden i’d grow nashis.

De zolder is called zen-room now that i’ve put some stuff away and placed a hibiscus in the corner above the staircase. I wish i was there now. Soon done.

Na ‘t eten heeft S de groenten gehaalt en heb ik de afwas gedaan. Nu liggen wij naast elkaar in ‘t bed en het is nog geen negen uur. De poes is buiten met andere beesten. ‘t Is best gezellig. ;)

In ‘t werk was het verschrikkelijk druk en ambetant maar gelukkig had ik vanmorgen een fles van revitaliserend botanic water mee genomen. Het lag in de koelkast mij te wachten. Meteen als ik mijn computer had dicht gedaan begon ik aan de fles nippen en voelde onmiddellijk iets aan mijzelf veranderen.

Back in G i walked home via Bilbo and Essenza in Zuid – although neither of those is on my way home. I bought that 5 euro cd called “Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll – music that broke the rules” with 25 original tracks which Rene wanted to have after hearing it chez nous last weekend and that sweet dreams eye pillow that i was already going to buy yesterday but walked straight home instead.

Last saturday on our way to nieuwjaarsreceptie aan het eind/begin van de Sleepstraat i bought a cd in Popville. It’s a soundtrack of a movie i’d really like to see again: One from the heart.

I’ve got one more thing to say. S has got two new hobbies. Besides watching Morse on dvd he’s also losing weight and growing moustache (in the seventies style) simultaneously. And tomorrow he’s going to eat just appleS. This is on his wishlist.

Als nieuwjaarskado van mijn liefSte kreeg ik cool feet* voor mijn warme boekje. First time under it today. Perfect fit.

Ik zit hier helemaal boven (i have promised myself to spend more time up here this year) op de witte futonbank. De poes mag niet in mijn schoot omdat ze stout is geweest en ik boos op haar ben. Ze zit nu op de bureaustoel. S is naar Dixie gegaan. I met him briefly at the station before i came home. We stepped in the krantenwinkel and i chose him Wired for train reading. Then we kissed more than in an average day on platform 5.

The last train leaves from Menen when i’m already asleep. Or should be.

Have you ever seen the rain? Coming down any day. [sigh] Pink was full (of course on friday) and i was dripping wet. I had a pink maria from zsa-zsa i my bag which is decorated with pink spirals on green balloons. She will be send naar finland. Annoying rain. The meatshop in the corner was still open and i stopped by to buy a bottle of red wine. Cause we had absolutely none at home.

Our new fridge – arc5551 – had arrived as promised. S had helped with window delivery and now it’s already balanced in the cold corner next to patio. It fits perfectly but we can only turn it on tomorrow.

Ziggy is still a bit curious/cautious about the new look of our kitchen. Red curtains hang again and they really make a difference. It’s totally chilly on the other side.

I went shoe shopping yesterday and bought two pairs – both ”bio” – from Bio Planet. I’m wearing moesgroen toxin-free Think! shoes today. The other pair is from el natura lista’s Vedoira collection. Red cloggs as in the picture here. Both of my new shoes feel super comfortable and they look fantastic!

Vandaag ben ik thuis gebleven met de loopse poes. Ik moest alleen naar de dokter gaan om een verklaring van arbeidsongeschiktheid te krijgen. Ze heeft me ook een voorschrift voor ontzwellende neusoplossing gegeven. Vier maal per dag mag ik spuiten. Op weg terug stopte ik in Bio Planeet om wat te kopen maar de rest van de dag heb ik het gewoon rustig genomen. En toch voel ik me moe. Ik hoop dat ik tegen morgen ietske beter wordt – anders kunnen we niet naar Breda..

I’ve been surfing a bit (checked out Ruby on Rails for example), reading a book and just relaxing eyes closed. The pressure between my eyes and nose can get quite painful.

I also made Buttenut Pumpkin Soup. Although the pumpkin is totally yellow the soup became totally green because of all the fresh chevril kervel i added in it.

We had a conversation about being assertive just a while ago (actually some hours ago, on Saturday evening; it’s past midnight already..) It was about the thin line between being assertive or being just arrogant – or even aggressive. I couldn’t immediately translate assertive in Finnish and had to check the word in my (old) dictionary. It gave two translations – “vakuuttava” and “ehdoton” – but i was not fully convinced by these words. With google i found a better translation in the internet: jämäkkä! Although i remeber i have been described by this word few times i don’t think i’m always assertive enough (when i should) and therefore improving my assertiveness doesn’t sound like a bad idea. S agreed with this on his part. Being assertive is good [for you] if you do it respectfully.

We started the Saturday together with Non Plus Ultra bubbles in The Bed. It was sunny and almost noon then. When we got up we saw our neighbour Helen harvesting grapes from the wine on their wall. The bike-dude was helping her; Evi and Patrick keeping company – of course – on this street you don’t have to be alone.. S took his cam en ging naar buiten om een paar foto’s van deze gelegenheid te nemen. Saimme kaikki maistaa tämän kesän edellisestä sadosta tehtyä kermaisen purppuraista makeaa mehua.

Finally we made it! Tonight: Sauna Aqua Azul – it’s been a while.. S found another interesting sauna not far from eS; we will try [sauna]O[eaux] some other time.

Sain työkaveriltani Pialta harvinaista herkkua: pussillisen Fazerin Salmiakki mixiä! Sattumalta mainitsin viikko sitten perjantaina pitäväni salmiakin ja punaviinin makuyhdistemästä. Juttu alkoi olutsuklaavaahdosta, jota Olutsirkuksessa tarjoiltiin jälkiruokana. Punaviiniä ja salmiakkia en sentään vaahdota keskenään – riittää kun maut kohtaavat toisensa kielelläni.
