Next 5 days – no train

March 20th, 2008

Stickered goodies

After that i will only have 7 train days left! The moment when i can switch from C to Y – or from D to G – is now confirmed. It feels so strange though, to think of how long this has been going on, since the end of january and i’m still waiting..

I’m still waiting for trying out the wide angle converter for my G7 which was delivered on monday.

I’m waiting for building my kitsch 1000-piece puzzle that i bought last weekend.

The cats are waiting for the rain to stop. Me too, it’s terrible.

S is waiting for the bathroom to heat up for the bath he was going to have on tuesday.
We’re both waiting for things after the bath.
And the weekend!

Moth on red curtain

When putting a re-filled icecube mold back in the freezer i discovered a giant moth on the curtain. Seen the wings you’d think Ziggy has had her fun with the poor creature. It didn’t move once while i took pictures and was difficult to shake off from the cloth.

The moth didn’t fly away – it landed with soft thump on our patio.

Moth by green wall

When i was washing the patio windows from outside the moth started to feel unconfortable – yet unable to fly. I captured it on a piece of newspaper (which i had by used for the finishing touch on windowglass) and threw the hairy thing over the wall to the giant garden where it probably will get eaten by some hungry bird.

Before i could wash the insides of patio door i needed to destroy this masterpiece:

Spinweb

S got back from UZ-Gent around noon.

Beat dynamic

“a beat is a dynamic changing rhythm”

There’s a brand new (small) Finnish library in Gent. We heard about it from Eduardo on Soirée on Friday and went to see it Saturday evening. For the first time in these three years i met Finnish people who live in Gent. At least five of them. And then there was a guest from Finland who knew my name – i could vaguely remember that i might have met him but needed some memory refresh before i could remember: he was Ninotschka’s cousin (small world again) and also a friend of Mira, the pinhole photographer. I donated a book that was given to me by Mölli to the library because i felt that’s where it belonged to. I was asked advise on how to classify books and organize the lending. I recommended to keep them in random order so long as the books are not covering the whole wall and use a simple version of Detroit lending. With real library card.

My brother is in Amsterdam. We will meet him and Manuela on Thursday in Rotterdam. Sunday we should be on the road again. But there’s scanning in between. Geike’s with eS.

Shure on vinyl

Downloaded photos from the cam and found this there.

Spinazielasagne in Spinnenkop. We got ananas in groentenpakket. Ook chinese kool, groene selderij, verse erwten en veel wortelen. S is watching the Muppets. (His back is getting worse – with pain.) I should pack for Paris tomorrow maar ik heb geen gusting. It’s so warm. Had some vlierbloesemsap (made by our neighbour Evi) to boost up my blood sugar. Now Kermit sings “it’s not easy being green”.

Ordered: G7

June 5th, 2007

Canon PowerShot G7 I ordered a new cam today: retro-style  Canon PowerShot G7 with extra battery. My good old S50 is already more than three years old. It cost me more than G7 back then although it’s not half as “good” as G7.

I never saw G7 live yet. My decision was based on feeling and online reviews. S also advised to go for it.
