i first saw daylight not far from the russian border and have come a long way to settle down next to the netherlands border. i live in a 150 years old house next to a small forest – well, actually in the forest but it’s not like we’re deep in the dark woods.. but definitely surrounded by lots of green! it’s a 300 meters walk to get the newspaper. the road is sheltered by trees so it looks more like an organic tunnel. outside our hedge we’re surrounded by barbed wire – that’s to keep the hairy cows safe in the forest. “we” is ik en mijn levensgezel en een dochter. we have animals too, two cats, seven chickens and a rooster.
i’m born in the early seventies. one of my brothers lives in toscane, the other one in finland. i used to work in the university library in helsinki but now i’m involved with translations in an old japanese company. i’ve changed both of my names once. i can speak four languages and a little bit of spanish too. thanks to my work i can understand several other languages – written. i’ve learned some swedish at school.
my hair is long and thin. last time i went to barber was about two years ago in lille. last time i asked S to cut about five cm from my hair. he did it in our bathroom. i don’t like shopping. i like reading. if i had more free time i’d knit while listening to music. when we get so far with the renovations that the current bedroom can be moved upstairs and that romantic room with roses on the wall is available for our desks i’ll buy me a sewing machine. when i was a teenager i had two guitars. i never owned a television until we bought one few years ago. only to be able to play ps and watch dvd’s – since we didn’t have a receiver for the channels. now we have eyetv and a few free channels available. tv gathers dust on the floor in the corner of the living room.
i like being alone or alone together with S. that’s why we liked this place so much since we first saw it. we both like apple. we met in the internet before skype was available for our countries. all thanks to julie driscoll, brian auger and trinity. when i was a young girl…
